What we do?
Student life at Queen's is full of opportunities for personal growth both inside and outside the classroom. But there are times when students feel the need for help:
- in times of crisis, such as death, accident or serious illness;
- in times of change, as you prepare for marriage or decide a career;
- in times of loneliness or personal need, perhaps due to anxiety, depression or financial problems.
Chaplains are most willing to be of assistance to students at times such as these.
We provide a welcoming service at the end of Orientation Week and services on special occasions on campus. We also sponsor or contribute to a number of special events and programs throughout the year. Watch for posters announcing these events.
In short, we try to assist students however we can in a friendly supportive and, hopefully, effective way.
The Office of the Chaplain has three main roles:
- the Pastoring role of counselling, advice, support and encouragment
- Accommodation for the wide diversity of faiths and beliefs in the Queen's Community
