Mobilizing Canadian Knowledge on Natural Resource-Based Development in Africa

Program for Peace First Workshop | October 2016


The workshop, co-organized by Jesse Salah Ovadia (Windsor), J. Andrew Grant (Queen's) and Nathan Andrews (Queen's), brought together a number of researchers working on natural resources and development in Africa. Contributions looked at particular country strategies, state and non-state actors and/or alliances that help or hinder the harnessing natural resources for economic and social development, and overall governance dynamics. The workshop included contributions from junior and senior scholars as well as academic and non-academic practitioners. 

The overall objective of the workshop, is to facilitate the mobilization of Canadian knowledge on this important topic.
