Knowledge Collaboration Centre (KCC)

Back in 2014, Queen’s University commissioned a study in collaboration with 10 higher education institutions to identify the potential of shared service opportunities in PeopleSoft. This led to the establishment of the Knowledge Collaboration Centre (KCC) in November 2015 – a platform that enables all participating institutions to better support the sustainment of their administrative IT systems through a web-based platform that fosters collaboration and information sharing.

The KCC currently features two knowledge areas:

  • PeopleSoft

This space features documents and discussions split into 5 PeopleSoft Communities of Practice (Campus Solutions, Finance, Human Resources, Technical and Training)

  • Portfolio & Project Management (CUCCIO Special Interest Group)

This space features a collection of documents, templates and best practices in Portfolio & Project Management

Under this collaborative model, end users contribute their existing documentation and materials to the KCC, and in turn receive access to the materials contributed by all other institutions.

Queen’s Role

The Queen’s Project Portfolio Office, under the Office of the CIO, has been involved with the Knowledge Collaboration Centre (KCC) since its inception and currently manages its operations.

The PPO has dedicated resources managing the day-to-day activities of the KCC, and proactively increasing awareness of the KCC beyond its existing member institutions.
