Financial Support for Graduate Students

Types of Financial Aid Available

Consideration for financial aid is automatic upon receipt of the application for admission. All eligible students are encouraged to apply for external awards, such as SSHRC awards and OGS.

The School of Graduate Studies at Queen's offers a number of Faculty-wide fellowships (value $10,000 each) for which students with a first-class average are eligible.

Bursaries are available to suitable qualified students for assistance in completing their programs.

The department also provides support in the form of annual Queen's Graduate Allowances. The amounts of these awards are variable. Suitably qualified graduate students in the department are regularly offered positions as TA's in addition to the above awards. Students can be funded internally in amounts up to $17,800 which includes a TA allowance.

Full-time graduate students are eligible to apply for a conference award each fiscal year (May 1- April 30). Applications and claim forms are available at the School of Graduate Studies.
