Financial Assistance
- Minimum guaranteed funding for Ph.D students is $18,000 per year for four years. Based upon available departmental and external awards, this amount is then supplemented to a higher rate.
- Students who are eligible are required to apply for Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS), Queen's CIHR Training awards andother major awards available through national (eg SSHRC, CIHR, NSERC), provincial, or private funding bodies.
- Queen's automatically issues a $5000 top up to all first entry tri-council (SSHRC, CIHR or NSERC) grant winners.
- Research assistantships and teaching assistantships may be available. Research assistantships are considered as part of a student's overall funding package.
