The RFP submission date is upon us and we’re now on to the evaluation process. A subcommittee of the steering group will be reading the proposals carefully, and meeting in early August to arrive at a shortlist for interviewing. Those interviews will take place in the first week of September, an exciting start to the fall term.
At the first meeting of the LAMP steering group it was suggested that members have tours of all the facilities included in this planning. This was arranged as a repeat of the tours provided for the proponents in their site visit of July 11th, and on July 18th and 23rd several members of the steering group made their way through all of our libraries and the Archives. The observations and questions were interesting, and it struck several of us that such opportunities for a closer look would be of interest to groups such as the Senate Library Committee. We’ll be raising that with them in the fall.
Very exciting today to have potential proponents here for the site visit portion of the RFP process. It’s always a pleasure to talk about the Library and the Archives, and wonderful to do that with a view to future potential.
The Request for Proposals for the provision of services to develop the Library and Archive Master Plan was posted today. Thanks to all LAMP steering group members for their valuable input and our friends in Strategic Procurement Services for their guidance!
