Daniel Robert Woolf is the 20th Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He is an historian and proud alumnus, who has returned to his alma mater from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, where he had served as Dean, Faculty of Arts, and Professor, Department of History and Classics since 2002.
Dr. Woolf became a professor in Queen’s Department of History on July 1, 2009, and began his five-year term as Principal and Vice-Chancellor on September 1 , 2009 – the third alumnus in the University’s 168-year history to head the institution.
In addition to his role as Principal, Dr. Woolf will continue to supervise graduate students and plans to participate on a part-time basis in undergraduate teaching. He will also be continuing his research activities in British history and the global history of historical writing.
