New renderings of revitalized stadium

At an open house on Oct. 23, the university unveiled new renderings depicting the plans for the revitalized Richardson Stadium.

Infrastructure and demolition work at the stadium site are underway, with construction expected to begin at the end of  the 2015 football season and be completed by the start of the 2016 athletic season.

The revitalization of Richardson Stadium is not just the building of a new stadium; it is the building of a strong varsity sports program for Queen’s, and of a strong university overall. The project is a priority within Queen’s $500-million Initiative Campaign.

I would like to see a close up photo of the seating at the new stadium. Especially want to know if there are hand rails and seat backs.I have season tickets.
    Thank you ,

      Hi John,

Thank you for your message and apologies for a delayed response. We have just posted some new architect’s renderings and a seating chart in the photos section of this website. The stadium will have three styles of seats: gold chairs with arms, which have about 11″ of knee room in a seated position; blue bench seats with a back and no arms, which have 17-3/8″ of knee room seated, with a backrest on a slight angle for a more comfortable seating position; and red bleacher-style seats with no backs and no arms. Hand rails will be installed down the centre of all staircases.

Also, accessible wheelchair and adaptive seating is available in most sections in the top rows. The exact location of these seats are still being determined. For those interested in tickets in these rows, they may call the tickets department at 613-533-2500 or e-mail custserv@queensu.ca.

We will be posting more photos as they become available.
