Dr. Eva Purkey is a family physician completing her MPH at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a certificate in International Health. Her clinical and research interests focus on vulnerable populations in Canada and overseas, with an emphasis on women's health. She has worked with refugee populations on the Thai-Burmese border, with aboriginal populations in northern Canada, and with underserved populations in Kingston including seven years at Kingston Community Health Centres where she had a general family practice with intrapartum obstetrics prior to moving to Queen's.
Her educational interests involve introducing learners to global health issues in Canada and abroad, and increasing medical student and resident awareness to health disparities.
