This award is presented by the undergraduate student body in recognition of outstanding teaching.
In selecting the recipient of this award, consideration is given to nominees' teaching ability inside the classroom -- that is, material presentation, originality and creativity of lectures, enthusiasm and motivation, and reception of questions -- as well as their out-of-class approachability and interest in the students.
Each of the three undergraduate years in Civil Engineering collaborates to nominate two professors for final selection by the Civil Club executive.
The Civil Club executive reviews the nominees and selects one professor to receive the award.
The award is presented during the annual Civil Banquet in late March. The recipient's name is engraved on the Civil Engineering Teaching Award plaque, which hangs in the second-floor hallway in Ellis Hall.
