The Rose A. Freeman Memorial Award was established to provide an award for excellence in performing their duties as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed./Dip. Ed.) course in the Faculty of Education at Queen's University.
To be eligible the TA must be a graduate student in the Faculty of Education at Queen's University who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the education of students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (Con.Ed., B.Ed., Dip. Ed.) program in the Faculty of Education at Queen's University through his or her role as a TA.
Con. Ed., B.Ed., Dip. Ed. students and professors may nominate a TA for this award by submitting a letter in support of the nominee to the Faculty's Graduate Studies and Bureau of Research Office, Room A106, Duncan McArthur Hall, Queen's University by November 30th and April 15th each year. Complete nomination packages must consist of a minimum of two letters, one of which must be from a professor. The name of the TA and courses taught by him or her must be included in the nomination document as well as the details for why the TA is being nominated as deserving of the award. There will be a maximum of two awards per academic year.
Selection is made by the Graduate Studies and Research Committee in the Faculty of Education. The Committee will review all nomination packages and determine Award winning TA's by taking into consideration all information received from both students and professors. All decisions are final.
Presentation of the award will normally be made at the B.Ed. Closing Ceremonies in April.
