The award was founded to acknowledge excellence in teaching within the arts & science physics undergraduate program.
Nominees must have taught members of the current arts & science physics graduating class in any of their four years.
Students in the arts & science physics program submit nominations of faculty.
Nominations are reduced to five, and then these are voted on by students in the arts & science physics program.
The winner of the award is announced at the March Physics banquet.
