Research Interests
I am interested in how cultural productions (theatre, dance, music) reflect and refract development processes and how cultural labour produces systems of value outside the logics of capital. My doctoral project looks at constructions of gender and cultural labour in Kingston, Jamaica, through theatre produced by NGOs, Dance Hall and the Passa Passa phenomenon.
