Indian folk traditions and their relevance in examining contemporary issues like ecological balance, religious pluralism, development; how alternate communication platforms, like new media, film, music, photography, experimental performance spaces, can be utilised to make rural folk traditions more accessible in the urban/global context. Through my research, I hope to add to the efforts of people's movements in India working to give voice to the silent majority by creating avenues of interaction and dialogue.
