Global Development Studies teaches students to think critically about international issues. Graduates of the programme have gone on to work in government agencies (eg. Ministry of Foreign Affairs), in non-governmental organizations (eg. Red Cross, Canadian Council for International Cooperation), in journalism (eg. CNN international correspondent), with international financial institutions (e.g. World Bank), in “think tanks” (e.g. International Institute for Sustainable Development), in the private sector and in professions such as law and teaching.
Our students have also gone on to do graduate studies in a wide range of fields, including Environment and Development (London School of Economics), Journalism (Columbia), Urban Studies (Berkeley), Women’s Studies (Michigan) and Museum Studies (Toronto).
