DEVS Certificate Programme

New online courses will begin in May, September and January.


MarkHostetlercert1.jpgQueen’s Global Development Studies Certificate is for working professionals and upper-year students in professional programs. It will give you a deeper understanding of development issues at home and abroad. Meanwhile, the flexible yet rigorous online courses can accommodate your busy work schedule. Our current course offerings focus on health and engineering issues, but interested professionals from other areas are welcome.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits (64 CFPC Mainpro – M1 credits) are available from the College of Family Physicians of Canada upon the completion of each online course. 

Here’s what you will gain from this certificate program:

  • critical awareness of development issues both in Canada and in other countries
  • preparation for more informed global citizenship and engagement 
  •  a comprehensive understanding of international development issues to help you work formally or informally in development activities related to your profession  
  • awareness of the development impacts of governments, inter-governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, and multinational corporations
  •  awareness of the key issues and complex interrelationship between development and your area of professional interest

Please note that these courses are specifically designed for this certificate programme and cannot be counted for credit towards a degree.
