How to Apply


The deadline for receipt of complete applications is January 31. It is advisable to begin your application early, so that supporting documentation (transcripts, letters of recommendation, and English-language test scores if applicable) arrives in time for the deadline. Late applications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To apply to the Master's degree in Global Development Studies applicants must complete the on-line application form. Please note the $105.00 application fee.

For your application you will require the following:

  • Information on all previous university-level studies, undergraduate and postgraduate (if applicable), even if the studies did not culminate in a degree.official transcripts from all academic institutions previously attended.
  • A summary of a topic you would like to pursue for a Major Research Paper (MRP)
  • The names of one or more DEVS faculty members you would like to supervise your MRP (and why).
  • Two letters of reference which should be from academic referees except in exceptional circumstances.(non-English-speaking international students) TOEFL/IELTS certificates of English-language competency.

Owing to the limited number of funded spaces for international students within our programme and the large number of applications, we encourage all international students to fill out a Statement of Intent pre-application assessment form prior to submitting a formal application, and also to solicit the support of a faculty member as a potential supervisor.
