DEVS 49X - Fourth Year Topics Course

The Department of Global Development Studies at Queen’s University invites applications and topic proposals from suitably qualified candidates interested in teaching a 4th year topics course.  This is an on-campus, seminar course with an expected enrolment of 20 students.  Candidates should have a M.A. or M.Sc. or Ph.D, and teaching experience at the University level in Global Development Studies.  This is a fall term appointment for the period September 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013, with classes in session from September 9, 2013 to November 29, 2013.

The academic staff at Queen's University are governed by the Collective Agreement between the Queen's University Faculty Association (QUFA) and the University, which is posted at A candidate qualified to teach may be considered for appointment to a Term Adjunct position as defined by the Collective Agreement for All Faculty, Librarians and Archivist between QUFA and Queen’s University. Remuneration will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement,and appointments are subject to funding or enrolment criteria. If a graduate student is teaching a course in a different discipline than they are registered, then they would be eligible for appointment as a Term Adjunct.

Course Description:

DEVS 49X/3.0 Course Title   3S

Seminars offered by regular and visiting faculty on development topics related to their research interests.

PREREQUISITES   Level 4 and registration in the DEVS Major or Medial Plan, or permission of the Department.

NOTE Taught concurrently with DEVS 80X/3.0.

EXCLUSION No more than 3.0 units from DEVS 49X/3.0; DEVS 80X/3.0.
