The Chair of the Defence Management Studies program at Queen's University and the Director of Security and Defence Management and Policy Program at The Royal Military College of Canada will together sponsor an international conference, "A Shipbuilding and Ship Procurement Strategy for Canada". This event will be held on 4 November 2009 at the School of Policy Studies, Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario. The conference will discuss Canada’s current shipbuilding and ship procurement strategies; compare and contrast them with similar programs in other nations; consider perspectives from related Canadian industries; and prospects for the development and implementation of a future strategy for Canada.
