Richard Plant


Richard Plant continues to teach at both Queen's and the Graduate Drama Centre at the University of Toronto. With Anne Saddlemyer (distinguished Queen's grad and holder of a Queen's honorary doctorate) he has recently published Later Stages: Essays in Ontario Theatre from the First World War to the 1970s (University of Toronto Press). In the past few months, he completed major entries for the Oxford Companion to Canadian Literature; he delivered "Censoring the Text", a paper on censorship and the Canadian theatre, for a symposium at the University of Toronto, and he spoke about representation in the theatre at the time of Merrill Denison for the summer series at Bon Echo Provincial park. He is currently Past-President of the Association for Canadian Theatre Research/Association de la Recherche Theatrale au Canada and representative to the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Council of Canada.
