Beginning November 11 on the Drama Department¡¯s Rotunda
Theatre stage, Shakespeare¡¯s beloved A MIDSUMMER NIGHT¡¯S DREAM will bring together
mortals, fairies, royalty, common folk, lovers, and jealous rivals, in night-time
mayhem and mix-up that is sure to captivate spectators. In a contemporary setting
featuring such familiar objects, activities, and locales as health clubs and
forest clearings, aerobics and bird-watching, accordions and bicycles, all set
against a world of fairies and forest spirits, the Drama Department productions,
while completely faithful to Shakespeare¡¯s text, offers the play in a production
certain to charm and delight our audiences. With singing, dance, music, with
Shakespeare¡¯s marvelous plot and beautiful language, and with an acting company
of twenty, this production of a MIDSUMMER NIGHT¡¯S DREAM should not be missed.
