Harkness Hall

[photo of Harkness Hall]Built in 1969, Harkness Hall is a residence building for first-year students. It is located on Earl Street, near the intersection with Alfred Street.

Harkness Hall was originally intended to house men only, but it became co-ed in 1987. It has room for about 100 students. Until 2015, Harkness Hall was called Harkness International Hall and housed mature, international students. These students had to be minimum 19 years old to live in Harkness International Hall.

It is named in honour of R.D. Harkness, a chair of Queen's Board of Trustees in the 1960s.
