The Victorian age, Disraeli in particular; scholarly editing.
Remarks
Senior Editor of the Disraeli Project 1982–2004, 2005–, principal investigator for a series of large SSHRC grants supplemented by substantial support from the private sector in Canada and the UK. With the help of a very large grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, is supervising the transition of the Project to a new team of researchers. Co-editor, Benjamin Disraeli Letters, Vols. I, II; General Editor,Benjamin Disraeli Letters, Vols. III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII (U of Toronto P). Author of articles on Tennyson, Hardy and Disraeli, in Book Collector, English Studies in Canada, Victorian Periodicals Review; contributor of three articles to the Oxford Dictionary of Literary Biography. Consultant and MS reviewer for University of Toronto Press, SSHRC, SSHFC (Grants in Aid of Scholarly Publications Program) among others; Honorary Fellow of St John’s College, U of Manitoba. Winner of the Queen’s University Prize for Excellence in Research (2004). LLD (honoris causa) University of Manitoba 2007.
