Mentoring Program:
A mentoring program for incoming MA and PhD students is currently under discussion. More details will be added as they become available.
Works in Progress:
Works in Progress is a venue for both graduate students and faculty
to present unpolished papers -- literally works in progress -- to the
department. The GES elects two Works in Progress representatives who
solicit and select papers for this event. Works in Progress typically
takes place once in the Fall term and once in the Winter term. This
event is well attended and provides faculty and graduate students with
the opportunity to learn more about their colleagues work and research
interests.
Social Events:
Each year the GES hosts several social events where faculty and
graduate students can mingle. The events usually include good food,
drink and conversation. Some of these social gatherings include, but
are not limited to, the Welcome/Welcome Back Party in September, the
prestigious Snowflake Gala in December, and the end of term Spring
Party.
