The concepts of community and sustainability are inextricably linked. Consistent with this understanding, the School of Environmental Studies strives to promote a sense of community not only within the department but also beyond.
Through courses, research, public interest work, and other activities, our faculty, staff, and students actively engage with environmental issues at every level of governance-on the Queen's University Campus, in Kingston and the surrounding area, as well as in the provincial, national, and international arenas.
By interacting with the various environmental communities, students are able to make connections across disciplinary and jurisdictional boundaries, and to network and learn in the multi-disciplinary field that constitutes Environmental Studies.
