Congratulations to Kassandra Yun for placing 2nd and winning People's Choice Award in 3MT competition!

Kassandra Yun presenting

We are delighted to announce that MES student Kassandra Yun has placed second and won the People Choice Award in the first heat of Queen's 3 Minute Thesis Competition. Kassandra competed against seven other Master's and PhD students in the first of three heats to determine the final line-up. As the runner-up, Kassandra will be moving onto the finals!

3MT is a university wide competition for Queen’s Masters (thesis or research project) and doctoral students in which participants present their research and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges. Participants cannot use props and may use only one presentation slide without animations. The challenge for participants lies in distilling their research and its impact into a compelling and broadly understandable presentation. Winners of the Queen's 3MT finals will have the opportunity to compete in the Ontario 3MT competition and from there, the Nationals.

Please mark your calendars and come out to support Kassandra in the final heat taking place on 30th March in the Dupuis Hall Auditorium starting at 4:30pm.

Congratulations Kassandra!
