PhD - Applications are being accepted for September 2013. One offer has been accepted and others are being considered.
MES - The application cycle for 2013-14 is open. Applications were reviewed March 5 and offers have been sent out. If you have not been contacted about an offer, we will keep your application on a waiting list.

Applications for the degree of Master of Environmental Studies (MES) and Environmental Studies PhD are accepted through the School of Graduate Studies at Queen's University. Students are accepted to the programs ONLY with a named supervisor in the PhD and research-based MES or advisor in the course-based MES program. Some Facts About Our Program
Minimum cumulative average accepted is 75% = B+ = GPA 3.3/4.3. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.
The following English Language Proficiency tests are accepted by the School of Graduate Studies:

- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
The School of Graduate Studies at Queen's University requires the following minimum scores:
TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT):

Applicants must have the minimum score in each test, as well as the minimum overall score.
English test score minimum of TOEFL 600 paper or 250 computer based, IELTS Band 7.0. This is for the academic version of TOEFL.
Any applicant who has recently studied for at least one complete year at a university where English is the official language of instruction may be exempt from the English Language Proficiency Test. An applicant requesting a waiver of the test for this reason should do so in writing and submit it with the application. The Director, Admissions and Student Services of the School of Graduate Studies, in consultation with the department, will make determinations in these cases.
We do not use GRE scores.
This program is very competitive.
We accept 1 new international student per year. This position is no longer available for 2012-13. We anticipate a position for one international student in the academic year 2013-14.
