Project Title

Eco-tourism promotion as a form of Sustainable Development in South Africa

Project Description

The tourism industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. I believe that developing nations can take advantage of this rapidly expanding industry to promote sustainable development. Ecotourism has become increasingly popular in recent years. Throughout my project I hope to explore how ecotourism can lead to sustainable development in South Africa. I plan to look at sustainable development in a broad sense so that it incorporates not only the environment, but also social and economic conditions. There are many contradictions between ecotourism and sustainability that I hope to explore through my research.
