Strategic Acquisitions When Supply is Scarce:

Buying Corporate and Investment Real Estate in a Highly Competitive Market

JUNE 15, 2005 - TORONTO

SEMINAR OVERVIEW

About the SeminarsThe corporate and investment real estate industry is currently undergoing a period of dramatic and unprecedented transition. At present, there is a very large pool of investment capital competing for a limited supply of commercial real estate, including office, industrial, retail and multi-unit residential space. Pension funds, real estate income trusts (REITs) and foreign investors have emerged as dominant owners of corporate and investment real estate, as they have sought higher and more predictable rates of return and stable income yields. This has fueled a significant consolidation and institutionalization of ownership that is likely to continue in the near future.

About the SeminarsThis executive seminar will engage Canada’s foremost leaders in corporate and investment real estate in an informative and interactive exchange of ideas. It will emphasize emerging issues that professionals must understand if they are to adapt their strategies to capitalize on fundamental changes occurring in the marketplace. Delegates will have opportunities to build valuable business relationships with leaders in the industry. The sessions will have a practical focus, looking at ways in which executives can use the information discussed to create value for their organizations.

Major Themes of This Seminar:

  • Identifying and evaluating corporate real estate investment opportunities
  • Strategies for property acquisition in a highly competitive market
  • Forecasting future trends in real estate investment and transactions

  • Improving your competitive advantage as an investor or seller
  • Consolidation and institutionalization of corporate and investment real estate
  • Outlook for real estate markets and its effect on acquisitions and dispositions
