I am in the process of completing my thesis. I have it in separate chapters right now and have downloaded the thesis word document to put it together. I understand that that once I go through my defence, I need to load it as an e-thesis and convert the word document into pdf…do I go to a library to do that?

Do you know how to fix the List of Figures/Tables? When I converted the file to PDF the word “Figure” or “Table” disappeared.
Make sure that you are using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro. Some earlier versions of Acrobat Pro and some alternative PDF conversion programs do not convert all document elements correctly.

You may not be using the latest version of Acrobat Pro. Use the version on a Queen’s Library computer.
Acrobat Pro is available on all the library computers: You can bring your thesis to the Library on a USB key or retrieve the thesis from QShare When the thesis is opened in Word, choose Acrobat -> Create PDF.
You can use any PDF conversion utility but strongly recommend latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro (v. 8). This version of Acrobat Pro converts Word documents most effectively, with the default configuration.
