Explore the lessons that can be learned from Kenya’s experience to inform other conflict-afflicted countries grappling with the challenges of conflict mediation, reconciliation and post-conflict institutional reform. 

About Alice Nderitu
Alice Nderitu is a Senior Advisor with the Geneva-based Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue. She was the 2011 Transitional Justice Fellow of the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation, South Africa. She has been internationally recognized for her work in conflict prevention and for her innovative approach to mediation. In her book, KenyaBridging Ethnic Divides: A Commissioner’s Experience on Cohesion and Integration Alice Nderitu takes us behind the scenes to understand the efforts to build peace and cohesion between different ethnic and racial communities in Kenya. She has worked with elders, mediated between political leaders at the highest level and founded Uwiano Platform for Peace, an innovative conflict prevention tool after the violent crisis of 2007-2008 and leading up to Kenya’s 2013 general elections.
