Queen's Information Technology Services (IT Services) and partners provide a variety of technologies and services for Teaching and Learning Support.
The Audio-Visual Services office loans and provides technical support for classroom equipment, including amplifiers and mixers, portable sound systems, CD, DVD, and VCR/VHS players, laser disc, microphones (corded, hand-held, wireless), and a variety of stands, projection screens, projectors, speakers, tape recorders and monitors.
Queen's Event Services administers the Classroom Presentation Assistants Program. The program funds student assistants to collect, set up, operate and return audio-visual equipment for classes throughout the term. There is no minimum or maximum number of times a student may perform these duties. Requests to participate in the program
must be made at the start of the term/course through the timetabling contact in your department.
Queen's University Moodle is an open-source, password-protected learning management system that provides a variety of tools for content management, project collaboration, performance assessment and evaluations, etc. It can be used to supplement face-to-face instruction or to deliver complete courses on the Web.

The Emerging Technology Centre is a state-of-the-art facility for students, faculty and staff to collaborate and investigate emerging technologies related to teaching, learning and conducting research at Queen's University. The ETC features a wide selection of technologies to support video and multimedia development. Some equipment, including audio recorders, video and still cameras, tablet PCs, and 'clickers' (student response systems) are available for loan. Consultations and workshops are available for individuals, small groups, and departments. Visitors are always welcome!
The IT Support Centre is the primary point of contact for assistance with computing software, hardware or service-related problems at Queen's University.
Call AV Emergency (36744) if you experience technical problems in your classroom, e.g., replace light bulbs, dead batteries, loose cables, etc.
