To help start a new adventure and academic career at Queen’s University, the Four Directions Aboriginal Student Center (FDASC), offers the first year Indigenous students the opportunity to move-in to residences one day early.
This event is held specifically to welcome our incoming Aboriginal students and introduce them to FDASC, our staff and the resources available to them during their stay at Queen’s! An entire day of orientation and social activities are planned with the new Indigenous students and their families.
The ‘Early Move-In Day’ is intended to allow our incoming students a chance to meet other Aboriginal students, tour the Queen’s campus and downtown Kingston! This not only presents the opportunity to beat the rush of the 4,000+ incoming students but it also sets the stage of creating community with the Indigenous staff, faculty and students.
Early Move-In will take place this year on Saturday, August 31, 2013. If you are a first year Aboriginal student and would like to register for this event, please contact Vanessa McCourt by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 613-533-6823.
Please note if you are not moving into residence, we welcome you to participate and join us this day for all of the orientation programming. Registration is mandatory for this event for all Aboriginal students. RSVP to Vanessa McCourt by Wednesday, July 10th, 2013.
