Welcome Day for Indigenous Students
To help start a new adventure and academic career at Queen’s University, the Four Directions Aboriginal Student Centre (FDASC), offers the first year, and transfer Indigenous students the opportunity to move-in to residences one day early.
This event is held specifically to welcome our incoming Aboriginal students and introduce them to FDASC, our staff and the resources available to them during their stay at Queen’s! An entire day of orientation and social activities are planned with the Indigenous students and their families.
The ‘Welcome Day’ is intended to allow our incoming students a chance to meet other Aboriginal students, tour the Queen’s campus and downtown Kingston! This not only presents the opportunity to beat the rush of the 4,000+ incoming students but it also sets the stage of creating community with the Indigenous staff, faculty and students.
We are charging $30 per family to assist in covering costs of meals, programming and residence rooms. Please mail a cheque to Four Directions Aboriginal Student Centre, 146 Barrie St. Kingston, ON K7L 3N6 OR bring money with you the day of.
