Media artist Craig Berggold strives to combine social justice activism with a contemporary art practice. His award-winning films Fresh Talk: Youth & Sexuality, Educate Your Attitude: Gay & Lesbian Youth Speak Out!, Pocket Desert: confessions of a snakekiller and Up To Scratch have been broadcast on television and shown in film festivals, museums, art galleries and community centres around the world. Currently, Craig is a PhD student in Cultural Studies and President of PSAC Local 901 representing Teaching Assistants, Teaching Fellows and Postdoctoral Scholars at Queen’s University. At Simon Fraser University’s Special Collections Library he is the lead researcher for The Canadian Farmworkers Union Archive Project. He has taught at Emily Carr University of Art & Design for a decade and is the co-founder of the Vancouver Mayworks Festival of Working People and the Arts.
