Lib Spry is presently a PhD Student in Cultural Studies at Queens University. She has worked in theatre for over fifty years as a director, writer, teacher, performer and translator in non-traditional theatre forms such as  popular theatre, community arts, theatre for young audiences and physical theatre. She is a recognized teacher of Theatre of the Oppressed. While working mainly in non-traditional venues she has worked in a variety of capacities for the National Arts Centre, Great Canadian Theatre Company, Teesri Duniya Theatre, and Geordie Productions amongst other companies. She has taught regularly as a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa, Concordia University, McGill and Queens. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College and had her mind blown and her vision of theatre altered while studying with master clown and physical theatre teacher Philippe Gaulier.
