Going forward the HST collected should be booked to the same fund and department as the revenue associated with the HST collected.
Currently on deposit transmittals the HST chartfield is defaulted to fund 10000, department 42098, account 210080.
Employees filling out deposit transmittals will be required to fill in the fund and department in the HST chartfield line. The account will still be locked at 210080. The fund and department will be the same as the associated revenue.
Going forward the HST paid should be booked to the same fund and department as the expense associated with the HST paid.
Currently any vouchers and cheque requisition entered by Accounts Payable are automatically defaulted to book the HST paid to the fund and department level, so this process won’t change.
For departments who process their own accounts payable, please ensure the system is set up to book the HST paid to the same fund and department as the associated expense.
