July 2011 Month End Close Update

Please note the July 2011 month end closure will proceed on schedule today with the exception of all July P-Card transactions. We are delayed in posting the P-Card journal and expect this posting to be completed as soon as possible. As a result, complete financial results will be available Friday, August 12, 2011.

Research reports are scheduled to be available on the portal in PDF format on Friday, August 12 and in Excel format on Monday, August 15.

As a reminder all journal entries must be entered, approved, all edits and errors corrected and validated, and the journal successfully posted by end of day today, Monday, August 8, 2011 to be reflected in the July 2011 financial results.

Please note the following:

• If your journal entry has been saved in incomplete status, please ensure that your entry is completed and un-check the “Save Journal in Incomplete Status” button in order to allow PeopleSoft to post your journal entry.
• If your journal entry is awaiting approval, please follow up with your Business Officer or the appropriate Research Accounting staff member.
• If your journal entry contains errors, please ensure that the errors are corrected and that your journal entry then edits and posts successfully.
• If your journal entry did not pass budget checking, please follow up with the appropriate Research Accounting staff member.

If any of the above is not completed by August 8, you will need to copy your journal to the next month and delete the current period journal entry.
