As we approach research year-end, this is a reminder that if you have a research project which is ending on March 31st, 2012, please ensure you complete all final spending by this date.
Depending on the funding agency, you may be allowed a “phase-out” period (i.e. Tri-Council projects), where you have up to three months following the end date to clear existing commitments. New spending is not usually permitted after the approved end date. If you require additional time to spend your project funding, you may contact the funding agency and request approval for a project end date extension.
If you are unsure about the spending rules for a particular project under your responsibility, please contact us at Research.Accounting@queensu.ca or extension 75616 for guidance.
Thank You and Regards,
