Can we fundraise more to ease this financial crunch?
Yes, we can, and we greatly appreciate all of the support we receive. Queen's Office of Advancement works hard to promote and advance the University through its many programs of engagement and partnership.
It is important to note that donations are one part of a broader solution. According to the 2007-2008 Annual Report (p. 38 and 39), donations make up 4% of all revenue; unrestricted donations make up 1% of operating revenue.
While we will work to increase these statistics, donors most commonly give to specific initiatives, such as academic chairs, academic programs, student assistance, and new buildings and equipment. The global economic downturn is affecting donations to the University, but Queen's is well positioned to rally its loyal supporters during this challenging time.
