The following is a statement from Principal Daniel Woolf:

Many of us have been captivated by the fate of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 since it disappeared on March 8th. Earlier this week, the relatives and friends of the passengers of that flight heard the news they had feared the most: that it most likely ended in the southern Indian Ocean.

That sad news hits even closer to home for me having recently learned that one of our own was aboard that plane. Nor Fadzillah Mat Rahim graduated from Queen’s with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999. She lived in Malaysia with her husband, Azrai Izet Mohamad, also a Queen’s graduate (BSc’ 1999), and had been headed to Beijing on business.

I want to offer my deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of everyone who perished aboard flight MH370, particularly to Mr. Mohamad, as well as to those in our community for whom Nor Fadzillah Mat Rahim was a friend and classmate.
