Overnight steam shutdown for Queen's Centre, School of Kinesiology and Health Studies

A steam shutdown is scheduled for the Queen’s Centre and School of Kinesiology and Health Studies beginning on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 11 pm and extending until Friday, October 6 at 6 am to permit Kelson Mechanical, working on behalf of Ellis Don, to tie-in steam infrastructure for the Queen’s Innovation and Wellnes Centre.

During the shutdown period, there will be no new steam production for domestic hot water tanks, heating systems, commercial kitchens and steam-reliant equipment within the Queen’s Centre and School of Kinesiology and Health Studies. The reserve in the domestic hot water tanks is expected to sustain demand for hand washing and showers in both buildings while work is in progress and the domestic cold water supply will be maintained at all times.
