More than 300 Queen’s University students will spend three days in Ottawa for Canada’s oldest and largest model parliament, which marks its 70th anniversary in 2017.
Queen’s Model Parliament will feature undergraduate students from a variety of faculties sitting as Members of Parliament. Over the course of the three-day conference, the students will take over the House of Commons where they will debate a variety of bills.

- Several distinguished guests will serve as Speaker of the House of Commons, including Howard Drake, British High Commissioner, Bob Rae, former MP and Ontario’s premier from 1990-95, Peter Milliken, former Speaker of the House, Sen. James Cowan, Gerald Butts, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Rosemary Barton, host of CBC Television’s Power&Politics.
