Barrie Pickles: 1932-2017

"Barrie Pickles"
Barrie Pickles

Barrie Pickles, who served as the third director of the School of Rehabilitation Therapy at Queen’s University, passed away on July 7.

At the time he was the first physical therapist to hold the position. Until his retirement, he continued to teach at Queen’s and worked to forge international academic partnerships related to community-based rehabilitation with universities worldwide.  All of his three children, Neil, Clive, and Alison, also attended and graduated from Queen’s, and each had the privilege of being hooded by their father at their convocations. Professor Pickles was immensely proud of this fact, as he was of his children and grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no service. For more information, view his online obituary.
