Funding for young entrepreneurs

Government announces $27 million in funding across Ontario.

MPP and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Research and Innovation Daiene Vernile announced at Innovation Park Friday the province of Ontario is investing $27 million over two years, earmarked for creating industry-recognized training, mentorship opportunities, entrepreneurial experience and start-up support for young people.

Programs receiving funding include the Youth Business Accelerator Program, the Youth Investment Accelerator Fund, SmartStart Seed Fund, campus-linked accelerators, on-campus entrepreneurship activities and the TalentEdge Internship Program.

Along with the formal announcement, successful and established entrepreneurs and program experts met with aspiring entrepreneurs in a mentorship session.
