The university’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department has noticed some unusual activity related to employees’ Net IDs and banking information within the Queen’s MyHR portal. Queen’s Payroll Services staff is currently in the process of contacting affected employees.

However, in an effort to ensure users’ accounts remain secure, we encourage all Queen’s employees to update and strengthen their NetID passwords.

If you notice any discrepancy in your banking information, you should contact Payroll Services at (613) 533-6000, extension 75275. As a precaution, the system has been placed in read-only mode such that only authorized Payroll personnel can make changes to information. Employees who need to add or update their banking information should visit the Financial Services website and follow the instructions provided. If employees have banking-related concerns over the holiday period, they can contact Christina Blanchard, Associate Director, Payroll Services, at christina.blanchard@queensu.ca or by leaving a detailed message at (613)533-6000 ext. 75919

Users wishing to change anything other than banking information should contact Human Resources at (613) 533-2070.

Off-campus users will be unable to access MyHR and PeopleSoft Finance, which have had their off-campus access suspended for the time being. In addition, access to the Pension Self Service has been suspended for all users, both on and off-campus.

While we do not believe there is a widespread risk to Queen’s users, changing your password will help mitigate the potential for unauthorized access. The university is committed to resolving this situation as quickly as possible. ITS is continuing to investigate and further updates will be provided as they become available.
