Steam shutdown for buildings south of Union Street and east of University Avenue

A steam shutdown is scheduled for a number of buildings south of Union Street and east of University Avenue on Wednesday, Sept. 13 between 8 am and noon (approximate timing) to permit Physical Plant Services to replace a main steam shut off valve for Bruce Wing. Affected buildings include:

  • Biosciences Complex (North)
  • Carruthers Hall
  • Douglas Library
  • Gordon Hall
  • Humphrey Hall/Craine Building
  • Jackson Hall
  • Kathleen Ryan Hall
  • Miller Hall/Bruce Wing
  • Nicol Hall
  • Old Medical Building
  • Ontario Hall
  • St. James’ Anglican Church
  • Summerhill

During the shutdown period, there will be no new steam production for domestic hot water tanks, heating systems, kitchens and steam-reliant equipment in the above-referenced buildings.
