Summer Camp

At Explore, you will find enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff who are looking forward to starting your camper's summer off with a ton of excitement, creativity and fun! At Explore, we maintain a camper to instructor ratio of 7:1. Together we will engage in exciting experiments, travel all over the world to learn about different cultures and people, meet new friends, play games, spend time exploring the outdoors, do arts and crafts and most importantly—have an AMAZING SUMMER EXPERIENCE!!

To sign-up for Explore Camp, you can drop off a completed registration form to the Queen's University Department of Geography and Planning, Mackintosh-Corry Hall, Rm. E208 or you can mail it to 68 University Avenue, Kingston ON K7L 3N6.

Explore Junior (ages 5-8)

Explore Juniors have the chance to see the worlds like never before! Each week there will be a unique program where we explore different themes ranging from Canada to natural disasters, to oceans and space! Our learning sessions at camp are based on the Ontario Curriculum so campers will be learning while having fun!

Each week, we go to the Queen's pool and the Splash Pad at City Park. We also feature a field trip every week so your campers get the most out of their camp experience!

This interactive, hands-on camps is an adventure you don't want to miss!

2020 Junior Camp Dates

Week 1 - Oh Canada! June 29-July 3* - short week - 4 days

Get ready to travel coast to coast as we make spots to learn about the amazing things Canada has to offer. We will be exploring the unique places and special heroes of Canada.

Week 2 - Dozens of Dino's July 6-10

This week join us as we become archaeologists as we dig for the dinosaurs that once ruled the earth. Grab you hammer, chisel and brush- let’s get digging!
 

Week 3 - Community Helpers July 13-17

Join us this week as we explore all of the people that make our community great! We are going to be learning about the importance of firefighters, teachers, police officers, doctors, construction workers and more!

Week 4 - Water World July 20-24

It's raining it's pouring and we are going exploring! Water is everywhere in our world from the clouds and lakes to the water that we use to drink and wash dishes! Join us as we explore the water around the world, how we can use it and how we can protect it.

Week 5 - Space Station Exploration July 27-31

Three, two, one blast off! We are going out of this world to see what lies beyond this Earth! Make sure to bring your space suit as we learn about zero-gravity rockets, plants and extraterrestrial beings!

No Camp August 3-7

Week 6 - Frozen Fun! August 10-14

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to live in a frozen land like Arendale? This week explore will be visiting frozen places around the world from the North to the South Pole to learn all about animals and people that live there and how they stay warm! Bring your mittens!

Week 7 - Globe Trotters August 17-21

Don’t forget your passport this week, as we travel all around the world learning about different cultures, traditions, games and celebrations. Learn all about animals, people and landmarks that make these places unique and worth the visit!
