Congratulations to graduate student Drew Branson on receiving a Geoscience BC scholarship of $5000 to support his MASc research on "Geophysical Prospection for Antimony and Chromite in the Quesnel Terrane, BC". The project is supported by a Mitacs Accelerate grant with Redline Minerals Inc., and the first field survey will take place in June 2019 with magnetometry, EM, and Res-IP surveys. While Antimony is a strategic element and about 90% of the production comes from East Asia, there is no producing mine in Canada. This project aims at using geophysical tools to identify associated rocks and minerals as antimony does not exhibit strong geophysical anomalies. The Geoscience BC scholarship will be used to fund at least two field campaigns.

Congratulations Drew!
