Nigel Bocking Receives GAC-PDAC Logan Student Prize

This year's recipient of the GAC-PDAC Logan Student prize is Nigel Bocking (4th year BSc Hons student). The award is presented annually to an undergraduate student in the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering that has shown academic excellence, good leadership skills, and has done well at field school or otherwise has shown proficiency in field techniques.

Visiting Speaker - Robert Wadsworth

On Friday, March 18th Robert Wadsworth, Vice President, Centre of Regulator Excellence, The Alberta Energy Regulator, will be giving a talk in the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering.

Grad Student Finalist for Christopher Knapper Award

Congratulations to Geology graduate student, Jennifer Bentz who has been selected as a finalist for the university wide teaching assistant award, the "Christopher Knapper Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance". She has been nominated for her teaching in GEOL/E 232, Mineralogy.

The Christopher Knapper Award is presented annually by the Alma Mater Society of Queen's University to teaching assistants who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the education of students of Queen's University which allows students to recognize outstanding teaching assistants.

The award presentation will take place Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Agnes Etherington Centre.
